A sign outside this Dallas Taco shop has a really heartfelt message written on a sign above a coat rack. It reads “Are You Cold?, Take One. Do you Want To Help? Leave One”. This tradition at the “Taco Stop” in Dallas brings winter warmth in more way than one.
The owner of the taco restaurant has repeated a tradition she started last year that caught on as a success. She encourages her customers and employees to bring in unwanted coats for those in need during the colder months. She saw this tradition in her native Mexico and thought it would be a great idea to try in her new hometown of Dallas.
This man, Thomas Brewer, drove from a suburd of Dallas just to bring coats to the “Take One Give One” rack. He even donated one of his old Marine jackets to the rack, along with a top-coat. “I could just see someone walking around in that”, he says with a smile on his face as he places it on the rack.
