Kelsey Wells was trying to get her pre-baby body back, so she started the Bikini Body Guide workout. She weighed 145 lb after having her baby and wanted to work on getting down to 122 lb. She was also pushing through postpartum anxiety, which made staying motivated through a workout even harder. She started and then quit but picked herself back up and tried again.
This time she got her weight to where she wanted it to be, except her body didn’t look how she expected it to. That’s when she had a huge realization that all people should have. This realization allows her to live her life to its fullest without letting the numbers on the scale define her.
Kelsey recently shared a photo with a message that has gone viral because it speaks volumes about the truth of weight loss and what a healthy body really means. So, if you’ve been feeling down about the number you see when you step on the scale, let Kelsey explain exactly why it doesn’t matter.
#1 “SCREW THE SCALE”
“I figured it was time for a friendly, yet firm reminder,” Kelsey wrote.
#2 “YOU GUYS.
“PLEASEEEEEE STOP GETTING HUNG UP ON THE NUMBER ON THE STUPID SCALE! PLEASE STOP THINKING YOUR WEIGHT EQUALS YOUR PROGRESS AND FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING PLEASE STOP LETTING YOUR WEIGHT HAVE ANY AFFECT WHATSOEVER ON YOUR SELF ESTEEM, like I used to.
#3 “To any of you who are where I once was, please listen to me.
“I am 5′ 7″ and weigh 140 lbs. When I first started #bbg I was 8 weeks postpartum and 145 lbs.
#4 “I weighed 130 before getting pregnant…
“…so based on nothing besides my own warped perception, I decided my ‘goal weight’ should be 122 and to fit into my skinniest jeans…”
#5 “Well after a few months of BBG and breastfeeding, I HIT IT and I fit into those size 0 jeans.
“Well guess what? I HAVE GAINED 18 POUNDS SINCE THEN. EIGHT FREAKING TEEN.
