To a lot of people, Facebook has become a major part of our lives.
It’s how we connect to our friends and family, and how we reconnect to our old friends. It’s pretty amazing what can be done with it in all honesty.
If you’ve got Facebook then you should be somewhat familiar with Facebook Messenger.
It’s what we use to talk to our Facebook friends, and it can be used for a lot of other things. Some people even use it for work!
How incredible is that?
In August 2017, Facebook announced that it had an average of 2.01 BILLION actively monthly users that rely on the site to get in contact with their friends, family, and co-workers.
As I mentioned, it’s a great way to connect with people, and Facebook has a tone of hidden features we all can benefit from!
If you ask me, opinions are like butts, we all have one!
It’s true that not everyone wants to see or hear another person’s opinion, and just like butts, there are some people out there who just love to show off their opinions and rub it in your face!
There are just some people online who really love sharing their opinion on everything.
Opinons on the latest blockbuster, politics, family matters (that don’t concern them), everything! You name it, they’ve probably talked about it!
People sharing their opinions is perfectly fine, it’s their right to have a voice and a say on certain matters.
However, that doesn’t mean I want to hear it every time I log into Facebook.
We all know at least two people who are like the person I’m talking about, but most of the time you simply can’t unfriend them on Facebook.
This particular person could be a family member, a distant friend, or even a work colleague!
Simply unfriending them on Facebook can be a tough thing to do!
But thankfully Facebook has come up with a great new update which can help you deal with your opinionated friends on Facebook!
Seriously, this new update is a miracle!
Facebook has introduced the Facebook Snooze Button.
The Snooze Button allows Facebook users to temporarily unfollow someone, groups, and even pages for set periods of time.
This can be for 24 hours, a week, or even a month!
Finally you can have some peace and quite from the person your friends on Facebook with that you commonly refer to as ‘The Idiot’.
It’s a pretty neat addition to Facebook, right?
A Facebook spokesperson talked about Facebook’s incredible new update with TechCrunch.
“We’re testing new ways to give people control over their News Feeds so they can stay connected with the stories they find most relevant.”
This new update will become very handy for many people, especially during period where people are sharing their political opinins left right and center.
We may like them as friends, but that doesn’t mean we have to like their opinion.
It’s also a great way to make sure your Facebook newsfeed isn’t flooded with posts you don’t want to read.
It’s a very impressive idea and I can certainly think of a few people who I’d happily use the Snooze Button on!
Facebook is, once again, offering you a way to get rid of annoying friends.
But if you can’t wait for the Snooze Button to be officially implemented onto your Facebook app, then you can always click on the ‘see fewer posts like this’ button which fills a similar requirement.
Facebook: The social networking site that helps you ignore annoying idiots with very boring and annoying opinions.
I bet Mark Zuckerberg didn’t have that in mind when he created Facebook!
Now if you’d excuse me, I’ve a few people on Facebook I need to try and snooze!
